The MOZA HGP Shifter is a CNC-machined aluminium H-pattern unit with seven forward gears and reverse. Its 15-bit non-contact sensor avoids a wearing contact point in the sensing system, while the intelligent downshift throttle-blip function can be configured in MOZA Pit House. The key compatibility distinction is connection method: direct USB is for PC, while Xbox operation requires the shifter to be connected through a compatible MOZA wheelbase such as the R3 via the included RJ11 cable.

Aluminium construction and sensing

The housing is CNC-machined from anodized aviation-grade aluminium. Gear position is read by a 15-bit non-contact angle sensor, so the sensor does not depend on a mechanically wearing contact surface. The supplied knob uses a standard thread and can be exchanged for many aftermarket shift knobs.

Shift layout and throttle blip

The gate provides seven forward gears plus reverse. MOZA's intelligent downshift throttle-blip function can be enabled, disabled and adjusted in Pit House on PC. Blip duration and intensity are configurable, allowing the function to be tuned rather than forcing a fixed behaviour.

Mounting and connection

For aluminium-profile rigs the shifter uses M6 mounting points. For a desk installation, MOZA specifies the separately sold MOZA Universal Mounting Plate. The box includes both a 1.8 m USB-B to USB-A cable and a 1.5 m RJ11 cable.

Compatibility

Platform: Manufacturer-verified for Windows PC through USB. Xbox compatibility is supported when the HGP is connected through a compatible MOZA wheelbase, such as the MOZA R3 Xbox & PC system, via RJ11.

Connection and ecosystem: USB-B connects the HGP directly to a PC. RJ11 connects it to a compatible MOZA wheelbase. MOZA states that Xbox peripheral adaptation depends on the specific game and its custom key-binding support.

Requirements: A compatible MOZA base is required for the documented Xbox route. A desktop mounting plate is optional and not included. A startup sequence may be needed for consistent Xbox recognition.
