Direct Drive and FullForce
The custom servo motor uses an optimised rotor magnet angle to reduce cogging and Fanatec’s FluxBarrier technology to improve efficiency and smoothness. FullForce can add high-frequency effects to the normal force-feedback signal in supported games, allowing details such as engine vibration and road texture to be reproduced through the motor.
Stable torque and fast response
The motor provides 18 Nm holding torque rather than a brief peak figure. Passive cooling and a thermally optimised layout are designed to avoid performance reduction during extended use. A powerful processor, low-latency motor control and a high-resolution contactless Hall position sensor support fast reactions while controlling unwanted oscillation.
QR2, mounting and connections
The QR2 electronics module is integrated into the shaft, and the preinstalled QR2 Base-Side Type-F uses die-cast aluminium with a CNC-machined finish. Side and bottom T-nut rails support adjustable hard mounting. Ports are provided for power, USB-C, pedals, handbrake, two shifters and CAN for future Fanatec peripherals.
Construction and ergonomics
The 290 mm Formula shape is approximately 20 mm wider than the previous generation, creating a more natural hand position for a broader range of drivers and car classes. The front plate is 5 mm carbon fibre, and the perforated leather grips can be replaced by the user. The wheel weighs approximately 1.35 kg including its quick release, helping balance rigidity, control density and manageable steering inertia.
Controls, display and shifting
The face includes 11 buttons, two seven-way FunkySwitches, two two-way momentary switches, three 12-way rotary switches and two thumb-reachable rotary dials with push functions. Nine RGB RevLEDs and six RGB FlagLEDs surround the white OLED display. Intelligent Telemetry Mode can show five supported data layouts. The CNC-machined black-anodised aluminium magnetic paddles are preinstalled, while the optional Podium Advanced Paddle Module offers an official upgrade path and is not included.
Setup and firmware
The QR2 Wheel-Side is installed as standard. QR1 compatibility is also listed, but a QR1 Wheel-Side is not supplied. The Fanatec App on Windows PC is used to update wheel and base firmware, configure LEDs and display behaviour, and adjust supported wheel-base settings. Available display data and advanced functions depend on game and platform support.

The ClubSport Pedals V3 set includes throttle, brake and clutch, with a load-cell brake and Hall sensors on throttle and clutch. The optional Brake Performance Kit is not included.

Is the ClubSport Formula V3 compatible with Xbox?
No. Fanatec lists this steering wheel as not compatible with Xbox.
How does PlayStation compatibility work?
The wheel becomes compatible with PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 when it is attached to a compatible PlayStation-licensed Fanatec wheel base.
Is QR2 included?
Yes. A QR2 Wheel-Side is preinstalled. QR1 compatibility is listed, but a QR1 Wheel-Side is not included.
What can the OLED display show?
The display supports the Tuning Menu and five Intelligent Telemetry Mode layouts where the game provides the required data.
Can the shifter system be upgraded?
Yes. Fanatec lists the Podium Advanced Paddle Module as a compatible optional upgrade. It is not included with the wheel.
