H-pattern and sequential modes
The ClubSport Shifter SQ provides seven forward H-pattern gears plus reverse with a reverse inhibitor. Moving the side switch changes to sequential mode without tools or a reboot. Fanatec supplies two polished anodized aluminium knobs, one intended for H-pattern use and one shaped for sequential shifting. Shift resistance can be adjusted to change the mechanical feel.
Mounting options
The shifter supports mounting from all four sides and from the bottom. Bottom mounting uses integrated threaded points, while side mounting can use the included T-nuts. Fanatec also offers separate cockpit and desk-mounting accessories, but those are not part of this SKU.
Connection routes
When used with a Fanatec wheelbase, connect the shifter to Shifter Port 1 to retain both H-pattern and sequential functions. Fanatec states that Shifter Port 2 supports sequential mode only. For standalone PC operation, connect the included ClubSport USB Adapter to the PC and use the supplied shifter cable.
Compatibility
Platform: On PC, the shifter works through a compatible Fanatec product with a shifter port or through the included ClubSport USB Adapter. On consoles, it must be connected through a compatible Fanatec Wheel Base or Racing Wheel and the game must support a shifter.
Connection and ecosystem: Fanatec confirms compatibility with all Fanatec Wheel Bases and Racing Wheels. The USB Adapter allows standalone PC use with other-brand racing wheels, but it does not provide console compatibility.
Requirements: For PlayStation use, the shifter follows the console compatibility of the Fanatec base or racing wheel it is connected through. A PlayStation-compatible example is the Fanatec Gran Turismo DD Pro Wheel Base. Do not connect the USB Adapter to a console expecting the shifter to work.
