Compact 9 Nm direct-drive force feedback with a 21-bit encoder and current-generation MOZA connection system.
The MOZA R9 V3 Direct Drive Wheel Base is designed for PC sim racers who want meaningful direct-drive torque without moving to a larger high-output base. Its servo motor delivers 9 Nm of peak torque, while the 21-bit magnetic encoder records 2,097,152 positions per revolution. NexGen 4.0 force-feedback processing, intelligent temperature control and an aluminium housing support detailed, repeatable steering response.
Why choose this product?
- The 9 Nm direct-drive motor provides clear steering load, kerb detail and vehicle-weight transfer without belts or gears between the motor and steering wheel.
- A 21-bit magnetic encoder and 1000 Hz USB refresh rate support fine steering resolution and responsive input measurement.
Product details
Motor and force-feedback system
The R9 V3 uses an 18-slot, 16-pole high-performance servo motor with 9 Nm peak torque and 180 W peak power. MOZA's NexGen 4.0 algorithm manages force-feedback detail, damping and response, while the industrial-grade conductive slip ring supports the current wired communication system used by compatible MOZA steering wheels.
Encoder, housing and thermal management
The 21-bit magnetic encoder provides 2,097,152 positions per revolution and a very small angular step. The wheelbase is enclosed in aviation-grade aluminium and continuously monitors internal temperature. Intelligent control reduces thermal drift during longer sessions while retaining the compact R9 footprint.
Mounting, connections and software
The base uses a four-hole bottom pattern and can be installed on a rigid cockpit, wheel deck or compatible optional desk clamp. MOZA Pit House controls steering angle, force strength, damping, road effects, firmware and device calibration. Compatible wheel options include the MOZA GS V2P GT Wheel for GT use and the MOZA RS V2 Steering Wheel Leather for a full-size round format. Steering wheels, pedals and mounting accessories are not included.
