A 12 Nm dual-servo flight base paired with the lightweight MA3X civilian-style side stick.
The MOZA AB9 FFB Base + MA3X Side Stick Bundle creates a complete primary flight-control system for Windows PC. The AB9 uses dual servo motors and MOZA's Control Loading System to reproduce changing stick forces, turbulence, runway texture and aerodynamic loading. The MA3X adds a lightweight civilian-style grip with a familiar side-stick shape, durable ALPS switches and up to twelve programmable input signals.
Why choose this product?
- The AB9 delivers up to 12 Nm peak force feedback through a sealed, fanless dual-servo system with adjustable control loading.
- The 220 g MA3X combines an ultra-rigid composite body, ALPS controls and a 5-pin aviation connector for direct use on the AB9.
Bundle components
AB9 force-feedback base
The included MOZA AB9 FFB Base is built around dual segmented-winding servo motors and MOZA's MCLS algorithm. The system delivers 12 Nm peak torque, a maximum adjustable movement range of ±20° and a 1000 Hz USB refresh rate. Its aviation-grade aluminium housing uses a sealed fanless design for near-silent operation, while the 216 W power system supports dynamic resistance during taxiing, take-off, turbulence, manoeuvres and landing.
MA3X Side Stick
The included MOZA MA3X Side Stick weighs 220 g and uses an ultra-rigid composite casing with a resin-like surface finish. Its controls include an ALPS 8-way hat switch, trigger and toggle switch, providing up to twelve programmable inputs. MOZA rates the body for loads up to 30 kg and the premium ALPS switches for more than 100,000 actuations.
Connection and communication
The MA3X connects to the AB9 through its standard 5-pin aviation interface. The base connects to the PC by USB and requires mains power. The AB9 also provides ports for supported throttle and rudder-pedal hardware. No separate USB connection is required for the stick when it is attached directly to the base.
Software and flight profiles
MOZA Cockpit is used to calibrate the base, configure force-feedback intensity, adjust response curves and save profiles for different aircraft. Stick buttons and hat-switch directions are assigned in the chosen flight simulator. Profiles can be tailored for civilian airliners, general aviation, helicopters or combat aircraft.
Mounting and cockpit expansion
The AB9 supports rig mounting and an optional desktop clamp. The clamp, cockpit and additional flight controls are not included. The setup can be expanded with the MOZA MTQ Throttle Quadrant for throttle and systems control, or with compatible MOZA rudder pedals. Check clearances and mounting strength before using high force-feedback settings.
Supported software environment
MOZA confirms Windows PC use with major titles including Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020/2024, X-Plane, DCS World, IL-2 Sturmovik and War Thunder. Console, macOS and Linux support are not officially confirmed.
Compatibility
Platform: Windows PC only.
Grip compatibility: the MA3X is directly compatible with the AB9 and other MOZA flight bases through the 5-pin aviation connector.
Requirements: mains power, USB connection, MOZA Cockpit and a suitable desktop or rig mount. Mounting accessories beyond the standard component contents are optional.
