The Playseat Challenge Black ActiFit is a lightweight, foldable racing cockpit for users who need to store their setup between sessions. It supports GT, rally and formula-style seating positions, combines the seat and hardware mounts in one frame and can be folded with compatible steering-wheel and pedal hardware attached.

Foldable cockpit and seating positions

The Challenge uses a patented foldable frame with quick adjustments for the seat, wheel support and pedal position. Playseat specifies assembled dimensions of 136 × 54 × 96 cm and a product weight of 9 kg. The recommended driver range is 120–220 cm in height and 20–120 kg in weight.

Hardware mounting and daily use

The cockpit includes steering-wheel and pedal mounting accessories plus cable-management tools. Its hinged wheel support opens for easier access, while the ActiFit fabric is designed to improve airflow. Compatibility covers many common wheel and pedal sets, but the exact mounting pattern and the weight of the installed hardware should be checked.

Direct Drive advice

Playseat states that Direct Drive steering setups are not recommended on Challenge models. Sim Race Webshop follows that guidance: a Direct Drive base may be physically mountable, but strong force feedback can make this lightweight frame move and feel unstable. For Direct Drive, consider the Playseat Challenge DD or a more rigid option such as the Playseat Trophy Black or Playseat Trophy Red.

Compatibility

Cockpit platform: platform-independent; the mounted wheelbase determines console or PC compatibility.

Racing hardware: compatible with many major steering-wheel and pedal brands; confirm exact mounting holes and hardware weight.

Direct Drive: not recommended for standard Playseat Challenge models.

Is the standard Playseat Challenge suitable for Direct Drive?

No. Playseat and Sim Race Webshop do not recommend Direct Drive steering setups on standard Challenge models.

Can a Direct Drive base still be mounted?
